Programs for Parents & Students

Families are invited to join us for 8-week Saturday segments. Students will receive their academic support while parents participate in the empowerment groups.

SAT BOOT CAMPS

Students will work with staff to develop a personalized plan, take practice tests, and prepare for all sections: english, math, science, and reading.

PARENT EMPOWERMENT GROUPS

Parent groups are a great way to meet other parents for practical and emotional support. Parents receive and share valuable information, and their experiences about disabilities and/or challenges of their children, school services, traumatic events, medical services, skills, resources and much more. Parents learn skills that teach them stress management techniques, life skills, self-care, and the importance of effective communication. Parents can suggest topics that may be of interest to them and we add the topic to our list.

SHARING COMMUNITY RESOURCES

We understand the value of collaborating with community partners to enhance the services we provide to our parents. We partner with community organizations to provide resources and ongoing education to our families.

PARENT & STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

For our students, we partner with community nonprofits to provide support groups, individual therapy and referrals for therapeutic services. For our parents, we’ll support you to meet with teachers regularly to engage and develop positive relationships. Research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism and restores parents’ confidence in their child’s education. In return, parents will be required to volunteer with us at least once a month.

WHY DONATE?

With your support, we can continue to make a difference in our students’ lives. A donation of $50 will cover an hour of tutoring, while $200-$500 will provide tutoring for a month, depending on frequency.

Your generous gift will directly impact a student’s life, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.
